Rema Namakula Shares Strategies to Boost Ugandan Music's Global Presence

During her press conference for her upcoming concert, Rema Namakula addressed the issue of Ugandan music not being able to break into the international market.

She emphasized that there is still a lot of room for improvement if Ugandan music wants to make a mark on the global stage.

One important aspect she highlighted is the need for a distinct sound that represents the country, similar to what other countries like Nigeria, South Africa and others have achieved.

Rema Namakula also mentioned that producing music in languages that unify societies, such as English, is also something that should be considered.

She urged fans to play their part in supporting these talented artists and mentioned Joshua Baraka as an example of someone who has done a commendable job in this regard.

She also pointed out that the local Ugandan music market often overlooks their urbanized music, which is the real deal when it comes to tapping into the international market.
